Dannenwalde is a district of the municipality of Gumtow in the Prignitz district in Brandenburg .

geography

The place is five kilometers north of Gumtow and 26 kilometers east of Perleberg . The district includes two inhabited parts of the community: the Bärensprung estate, two kilometers south, and the hamlet of Friedheim, three kilometers to the west . In addition, the Luisenhof residential area four kilometers to the southwest is part of the village.

Neighboring towns are Schönebeck in the north, Breitenfeld and Waldhof in the northeast, Kolrep in the east, Gumtow and Döllen in the south, and Krams , Vettin and Kehrberg in the west.

history

In 1804 there were a total of 307 residents and 39 campfire sites in the 24 Hufe village and estate. In addition to nine whole farmers, two kossäts , 16 Büdners and 20 residents , there was a forge, a brickworks, a water mill and a forester, as well as over 600 acres of wood. At that time Albrecht von Rohr , Prussian district president in Kleve, was the owner of the place belonging to the Pritzwalkischen district in the Prignitz of the Mark Brandenburg , to the parish in Demerthin and by post to Kyritz .

On October 15, 1897, the narrow-gauge railway line from Perleberg to Kyritz was put into operation and with the Dannenwalde station the place was connected to the first connection of the small railways of the districts West and East Prignitz . In 1969 the line was shut down, at the same time as operations on the entire small railway network in Prignitz were discontinued.

On June 30, 2002, Dannenwalde merged with 15 other communities to form the community of Gumtow. At that time 509 people lived here.
