Elisabeth von Falkenhausen

Anna Luise Cecilie Elisabeth Freifrau von Falkenhausen born. von Oppen (* 1923 in Dannenwalde ) is a German non-fiction author and local history researcher .

She was born in 1923 into the von Oppen family. Her father was the landowner and agricultural functionary Joachim von Oppen . Her mother's name was Anna von Oppen, geb. of pipe . In 1948 she married Friedrich Freiherr von Falkenhausen (1902–1971), who was his first marriage from 1936 to Udi geb. von Buch (1899–1945) had been married. Elisabeth von Falkenhausen grew up in Prignitz , in the Gumtower district of Dannenwalde. After the expropriation of her parents' property by the Red Army and the flight from the Soviet Zone in 1945, she settled in Hanover and became a biology teacher for secondary schools. She later became a specialist advisor for biology classes and wrote books on the subject.

After the fall of the Wall , she began to research and mediate her former home, the Prignitz, and published a popular guide in this context.

Honors

Elisabeth von Falkenhausen is an honorary member of the home and culture association Dannenwalde.
