Friedheim is an inhabited part of the municipality in the Dannenwalde district of Gumtow in the Prignitz district in Brandenburg .

geography

The place is located three kilometers west of Dannenwalde, six kilometers northwest of Gumtow and 23 kilometers east-southeast of Perleberg . It is located on the western edge of the Dannenwalde district and on the northwestern edge of the Kyritzer Platte natural area , part of Prignitz and Ruppiner Land . In the open agricultural landscape that dominates here, there is only a smaller forest area to the east.

On a small ridge that runs in north-south direction and is around 70 meters high, the terrain surrounding the settlement drops noticeably on almost all sides. The only exception to this is the foothills leading east to Dannenwalde. The lowlands surrounding the ridge are in the northeast the Dannenwalder Bach , in the southeast and south the approximately 20 meters lower lying Großer Luch , in the southwest the Karthane , in the west the trenches III / 149, and in the northwest the trenches III / 152 and III / 152- 1.

The community part consists of a hamlet in the north and a scattered settlement south of it. The neighboring towns are Schönebeck in the northeast, Dannenwalde in the east, Bärensprung , Zarenthin Aufbau and Zarenthin in the southeast, Döllen , Luisenhof and Krams in the southwest, Vettin in the west, and Kehrberg in the northwest.

history

On June 30, 2002, Dannenwalde merged with 15 other communities to form the community of Gumtow. Friedheim was previously a district of Dannenwalde and through the merger it became an inhabited part of the Gumtow municipality.
