history

The first written mention of Tsarenthin comes from the year 1275, at that time in the spelling novam uillam Slauicalem . In 1667 the spelling Zarrenthin is found .

Around 1800 the place belonged to the Havelberg district in the province of Prignitz ; part of the Kurmark of the Mark Brandenburg . In a description of this landscape from 1804, a noble "establishment" was listed under the name of Zarenthin, which had a granny, six Büdner, six campfire sites and a total of 32 residents. The latter were in the parish of Döllen and could be reached by post via Kletzke .

In 1816 Zarenthin came to the Ostprignitz district , which continued to exist as the Ostprignitz district from 1939. From 1952, the place belonged to the Kyritz district in the Potsdam district before it became part of the Prignitz district on December 6, 1993. Since June 30, 2002, Zarenthin has belonged to the community of Gumtow, previously the village was a district of Döllen.
