The office Groß Pankow / Prignitz , also written Amt Groß Pankow (Prignitz), was an office in Brandenburg formed in 1992 , in which 13 municipalities in the then Pritzwalk district (now the Prignitz district , Brandenburg) were initially combined into an administrative association. It was dissolved again in 2002.

Geographical location

The Groß Pankow / Prignitz office bordered the Putlitz-Berge office in the north, the Pritzwalk-Land office and the Heiligengrabe / Blumenthal office in the east, the Gumtow office and the Plattenburg office in the south, and the Karstädt and the office in the west free city of Perleberg .

The Minister of the Interior of the State of Brandenburg approved the creation of the Groß Pankow / Prignitz office on August 10, 1992 (with effect from August 10, 1992). The office was based in Groß Pankow and consisted of the following communities:

  8. Towels

The Groß Pankow / Prignitz office had 5,180 inhabitants at the end of 1992. With the formation of the new (large) community Groß Pankow (Prignitz) from the communities Baek, Groß Pankow, Groß Woltersdorf, Helle, Kehrberg, Klein Gottschow, Kuhbier, Kuhsdorf, Lindenberg, Retzin, Tüchen, Vettin and Wolfshagen of the Groß Pankow office / Prignitz and the municipality of Boddin-Langnow of the Pritzwalk-Land office, with effect from December 31, 2002, the Groß Pankow / Prignitz office was dissolved. At the end of 2001 it still had 4,790 inhabitants.

Office Director

The first and only official director of the Groß Pankow / Prignitz office was Thomas Brandt. On January 8, 2003, he was elected full-time mayor of the community of Groß Pankow (Prignitz) for the remainder of his term of office by the local council. On April 27, 2008, he was re-elected with a large majority.
