Kuhbier is a part of the community Groß Pankow (Prignitz) in the district of Prignitz .

location

Kuhbier is located about five kilometers east of Groß Pankow and about six kilometers west of Pritzwalk .

history

In 1304 and 1312, cow beer was first mentioned in a document. Shortly thereafter, Kuhbier also received its own coat of arms, which is described as follows: red tower on a green hill laterally bordered by two side hills - on a blue background.

In 1476 a church was built, which is now a monument . In 1853 the church was rebuilt and enlarged. To date it has been repaired several times.

After the Second World War , several associations were founded in Kuhbier. These included a football club founded in 1953 and a riding club.

In 1999 a stable building was converted into a village community center with the help of many villagers . In 2007 the association Kuhbierer Leben was founded, which is very involved in village life.

Stopping point cow beer

Kuhbier is also located on the Pritzwalk – Suckow railway line . The stop was opened on June 4, 1896. Its operation was suspended on December 9, 2006. But about eight months later, it reopened on August 27, 2007, and on July 29, 2016, traffic was stopped again.
