history

Village church

Already in the first half of the 14th century there were two knightly seats and a residential courtyard in Gantikow owned by the von der Weyde family. In 1658 the property went to the von Platen family, who were among the most influential Prignitz families and held important positions in the Brandenburg-Prussian state. In 1872 the property was sold to the middle-class Neubauer family. In 1926 ownership passed to a Ms. Döpke who owned the building until 1945. On May 1, 1974 Gantikow was incorporated into Kyritz.

The village church in Gantikow is a brick stone church with a retracted choir. It dates from the 13th century and belongs to the Prignitz church district .
