Teetz-Ganz , from 1957 to about 1992 Teetz or Teetz / postal , was a 1957 existing to 2002 community, first in the county Kyritz in Potsdam district of East Germany from 1990 to 1993 in the district of Kyritz and from 1993 in Ostprignitz-Ruppin of State of Brandenburg . Teetz-Ganz was incorporated into the city of Kyritz on December 31, 2002 and has been part of the city of Kyritz ever since.

history

Teetz was first mentioned in 1305 - albeit only indirectly - when Jane von dene Tyeze was a witness in a document issued in Havelberg. In 1337 the place itself was named. The uplifts in the margraves' place had come into aristocratic possession before 1337 and were transferred to an altar in the Nicolaikirche in Kyritz in 1337. The village itself belonged to the bailiwick (or rule) Fretzdorf. In 1438 the Fretzdorf rule was sold to the Bishop of Havelberg. In 1571 the episcopal property was administered by the Wittstock office. The village of Teetz remained with the Wittstock office until 1872. Teetz is located in the Prignitz, came to the Ostprignitz district in the district reform of 1817 and to the Kyritz district ( Potsdam district ) in the 1952 district reform in the former GDR .

The medieval village of Ganz had fallen in desolation by the time it was first mentioned in 1438 at the latest . By 1556 a new village had been built. The place Ganz belonged to the rule of Fretzdorf, which had come to the Bishop of Havelberg in 1438. However, the then deserted Feldmark was lent to aristocrats and remained in aristocratic ownership until the manorial rights were transferred to the Wittstock district court in 1849. Like Teetz, Ganz came to the Ostprignitz district in 1817 and to the Kyritz district in the Potsdam district of the former GDR in 1952 .

Already in 1928 the place Lellichow was incorporated into Ganz. 1957 this incorporation was reversed. On January 1, 1957, Lellichow was incorporated into Bork , whereas Ganz was incorporated into Teetz / Ganz. The municipality of Teetz merged in 1992 with six other municipalities and the city of Kyritz to form the administrative community of Amt Kyritz .

It is now unclear when the community took on the name Teetz-Ganz. The historical municipality directory means since the incorporation in 1957 (as Teetz / Ganz), the historical local lexicon says, however, only since 1995. In the map of the administrative borders of Brandenburg and Berlin from 1990 the double name Teetz-Ganz does not appear (in contrast to Rehfeld-Berlitt ). Even when the Kyritz office was formed in 1992, the name of the community was still written as Teetz (here, for example, Bork-Lellichow appears ). If one proceeds from this source, the community at that time would have to have acquired the double name Teetz-Ganz only after August 1992.

On December 31, 2002, the municipality of Teetz-Ganz was incorporated into the city of Kyritz and dissolved. Since then, Teetz-Ganz has been part of the city of Kyritz. The local advisory board consists of six members who elect the mayor and his deputy from among their number. On October 26, 2003, the Kyritz office was dissolved and the city of Kyritz became vacant.
