Car ferry in Helsingborg

The European route 55 (short: E 55 ) runs from the northern point Helsingborg ( Sweden ) to the southern point Kalamata ( Greece ). It is 3,305 km long.

From Helsingborg, the European route 4 connects to the north , which leads through Sweden to Tornio ( Finland ). Efforts were made to exchange the E 4 signs for E 55 signs and thus to extend the E 55. For practical - and probably sentimental - reasons, however, it has so far not been used.
