The European route 601 is a 62 km long European route of the intermediate network, which connects the cities of La Rochelle and Niort in France .
course
The road runs from west to east; it begins in La Rochelle, where it meets the European route 602 . It follows the national route 11 , which has largely been expanded to two lanes . About 8.5 kilometers after its beginning, the route départementale 137 branches off to the north, on which the European route 3 runs. The E 601 crosses the border between the Départements Charente-Maritime and Deux-Sèvres immediately before Mauzé-sur-le-Mignon , continues in a north-easterly direction and before Frontenay-Rohan-Rohan and turns onto route nationale 248 , which becomes the A10 autoroute ( Europastraße 5 ), which is reached south of Niort and where the E 601 ends.
