The European route 101 (short: E 101 ) is a European route that leads in a north-south direction from Moscow to Ukraine . The European route begins on the ring road of Moscow and is the same route as the M-3 expressway . It then leads to the southwest past the cities of Kaluga , Bryansk and Sevsk . From the Ukrainian border, the trunk road is signposted as M-02 . After Hluchiw - this is where the E 38 starts - the highway reaches Krolewez , Baturyn and leads past the towns of Konotop , Borsna and Nischyn until it changes to the M-01 at Kipti , about 90 kilometers north of Kiev . Here it crosses the E 95 . The E 101 now continues to Kiev . There it ends at the intersection with European roads 40 and 373 .
