The European route 31 (E 31) is a European route and leads from Rotterdam in the Netherlands to Hockenheim in Germany .
In the Netherlands it runs over the A 15, which briefly merges with the A 16 at Knooppunt Ridderkerk. The A 15 near Rotterdam is known as the “Ring Rotterdam Zuid”. From Knooppunt Valburg to Knooppunt Ewijk it leads over the A 50 , from Ewijk over the A 73 to Rijkevoort. From there it leads on the A77 to the German border near Goch .
From the border, the road leads west of the Rhine on the A 57 to the Köln- Nord motorway junction , where it leads on the A 1 towards the Erfttal motorway junction , continues on the A 1 / A 61 to the Bliesheim motorway junction and then continues on the A 61 left bank of the Rhine to Speyer . There the Rhine is crossed and the route continues to the Hockenheim motorway triangle. The signage as E 31 often appears on the Italian A 15, although this is officially part of the E 33.
