The European route 52 (short: E 52 ) is a 554 km long, east-west running European route . It runs through France , Germany and Austria .

The E 52 begins in Strasbourg, France, and runs along the N4 national road to the French-German border. From Kehl , the E 52 then follows the B 28 , from where it changes to the A 5 towards Karlsruhe at Appenweier .
From the Karlsruhe triangle, the E 52 follows the A 8 towards Munich , which passes Stuttgart , Ulm and Augsburg . The route then briefly changes to the A 99 which runs around Munich . From the München Nord junction, it runs together with the E 45 coming from Nuremberg (A9) before it returns to the A8 in the south of the city.
From Munich, the E 52 leads on the route of the A 8 together with the Europastraße 45 from Munich to Dreieck Inntal and from the Dreieck Inntal together with Europastraße 60 to the German-Austrian border , where it joins the Austrian West Autobahn A1 changes and finally ends at Salzburg .
