Sunday Skiflers (formerly: The Sunday Skiflers ) was a Swiss country and skiffle band. The Skiflers were the first and most successful country skiffle band in Switzerland.

history

The band was founded in 1961 when James Müller wanted to form a gospel choir with schoolmates, and they then decided together for skiffle music. According to their own statement, the name comes from the fact that they only had time to practice on Sundays. The first LP was released in 1974 and sold well in Switzerland with over 7,000 copies. The album was also released by another label in Germany . The band was later signed to Polydor Records for two albums .

In addition to their concerts, the Sunday Skiflers made several appearances on television at ZDF , Swiss television and ORF , including in the programs Top of Switzerland and Risk .

In 2007 the band broke up. In total, they appeared on stage over 2000 times and on television 16 times. They produced seven LPs, eleven CDs and one DVD, with a circulation of between 3,000 and 8,000 copies.
