The European route 119 (short: E 119 ) is a trunk road that begins near Moscow and leads in a southeastern direction to Baku in Azerbaijan and on to Astara on the border with Iran . Together with the E 115 , the road runs along the M4 until it branches off south of the Okaquerung onto the R22 to Tambov and on to Volgograd . From Volgograd, the E119 shares the route with the E40 to Astrakhan . The road then roughly follows the western course of the coast on the Caspian Sea . The E119 crosses the E 50 in Makhachkala . At the Azerbaijani border the route corresponds to the M1 . From Baku, the E 119 shares the route on the M2 with the E 60 to Ələt . The E 002 also goes west there. The E 119 continues south towards Astara on the border with Iran.
