Course of the E97
The European route 97 began earlier in the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don and thus almost consistently followed the M25 . Eventually the beginning was moved to Kherson in the Ukraine . From there it goes over the Crimea and the Crimean Bridge to the Russian mainland.
The European route 115 exits near the city of Novorossiysk . The road leads via Sochi towards the Georgian border along the Black Sea . Shortly before the border, the European route 592 meets the E97 at Dschubga . In the Georgian area, the European route 97 initially crosses Abkhazia . Eventually the E97 reaches the European route 70 west of Senaki . Together with this, the E97 crosses the Georgian-Turkish border. The road remains on the Turkish Black Sea coast to Trabzon . There the E97 branches off from the E70 and continues in a southerly direction until it finally ends in Aşkale at European route 80 .
