The European route 001 (short: E 001 ) is a European route east of the Black Sea. It leads from Marneuli in Georgia to Darpas in Armenia . It is an alternative route to the E 117 through the Caucasus between Georgia and Armenia .

Starting at the European route 117 near Marneuli , the E 001 runs south on the S7 . At Sadachlo , the E 001 passes the Georgian-Armenian border. The E 001 now follows the Armenian M6 . The course to the southwest touches Alaverdi . The Dsoraget is crossed to the south . From Vanadzor , the E 001 follows the Armenian M8 for a few kilometers before it meets the E 117 again at Darpas and finally ends there.
