course

The E 851 branches off in Petrovac on the Montenegrin Adriatic coast from the E 80 , which turns there inland to the east. As national road 2-4 it follows the coast via Bar to Ulcinj , from where it leads over the border to Shkodra  .

In Albania, the course is through the mountains in the north of the country in the European Agreement on Main International Traffic Arteries (European Agreement on Main International Traffic Arteries) not regulated exactly - the country ratified the Convention until 2006. Previously, followed by the European road to direct the course of the National road 5  via Puka  to Kukës . Today, the more comfortable detour on the national road SH1 to Milot and from there via the new A1 motorway to Kukës is recommended.

As a result, the road crosses the Kosovar-Albanian border at Morina ( Morina / Vërmica border crossing ) and leads via Prizren to Pristina , where it meets the E 80 again. The R 7 motorway forms the largest part of the route . Further sections will be expanded to a freeway-like expressway.
