The Rruga shtetërore SH41 ( Albanian for state road SH41 ) is a national road in Albania of around twelve kilometers in length. It branches off from the SH1 in Shkodra and leads to the Montenegrin border at Muriqan / Sukobin. It is an important link between Albania and Montenegro.
The SH41 is part of the European route 851 , which connects the Montenegrin coast through northern Albania with Kosovo .
Route and development status
Right at the start, the SH41 crosses the Buna River on a swing bridge in Shkodra . Beyond the bridge, the SH24 branches off to the north, following the southern bank of the Shkodra Sea . Until the swing bridge opened in 2011, only a single-lane steel and wood bridge a little further north was available.
After crossing the river, the road runs west through flat terrain between the southern slopes of Mount Tarabosh and the Buna, which leads to the border of Albania and Montenegro. This section of the route is a well-developed road.
