The European route 501 (E 501) is a European route that stretches from Le Mans through the French region of Pays de la Loire from northeast to southwest to Angers . It begins at the motorway triangle with the E 50 ( Autoroute A81 ) and ends northeast of Angers near Corzé at the motorway triangle with the E 60 ( Autoroute A85 ). The line was built from 1987 to 1989.

The route of the E 501 is identical to that of the Autoroute A11 ( L'Oceane ) between Le Mans and Angers. The E 501 crosses the Sarthe River south of Noyen-sur- Sarthe . The E 501 crosses the border between the departments of Sarthe and Maine-et-Loire east of Durtal . A few kilometers to the west is the bridge over the Loir . In Seiches-sur-le-Loir is Airport Angers-Marcé connected. Finally the E 501 reaches the motorway triangle with the E 60.
