The European route 571 (short: E 571 ) is a European road running from west to east in Slovakia , which is about 405 km long. On the route it crosses the following Slovak administrative units: Bratislavský kraj , Trnavský kraj , Nitriansky kraj , Banskobystrický kraj and Košický kraj and represents the so-called southern route from Bratislava to Košice . The full length of the E 571 is congruent with the longer E 58 ( Vienna - Rostov-on-Don ). Around half of the Europastraße has at least four lanes.

The European route 571 begins at the Petržalka motorway triangle (connection to the D2 motorway ) in the south of Bratislava and follows the D1 motorway to the Trnava motorway junction ; there it changes to the R1 expressway . In the further course you will pass Nitra , Zlaté Moravce and Žiar nad Hronom . In Budča bei Zvolen , the E 571 becomes 1st order road 16 and shortly thereafter the four-lane expansion ends. As far as Košice it is largely congruent with the I / 16 and passes, among others, Lučenec , Rimavská Sobota and Rožňava , before it reaches Košice . Sections between Zvolenská Slatina and Kriváň , at Ožďany and Tornaľa , on the other hand, are part of the R2 expressway , although only the first-mentioned section has four lanes. The four-lane expansion begins again at Šaca (district of Košice) and is designated as a road until the end at the Prešovská-Sečovská junction east of the city center.

In the future, the entire Zvolen – Košice line is to be expanded to four lanes, but no new construction is currently taking place.
