The European route 578 (short: E 578 ) is part of the European trunk road network in Romania . From Sărățel in the district of Bistrița-Năsăud , the European road leads in a south-easterly direction to Chichiş in the district of Covasna .

The E 578 connects in the historical region of Transylvania , the European route 58 near Sărățel ( German Reussen ) - municipality Șieu-Măgheruș (Ungersdorf) - with the E 574 in Chichiș ( Hungarian Kökös ).

Route

From Sărățel, the 285 km long road in the east of the Transylvanian Basin leads about 20 km south in the Bistrița-Năsăud district, around 86 km east in the Mureş district , after which the E 578 130 km south - partly along the river Olt (Alt) and the Sfântu Gheorghe – Siculeni – Adjud railway line - in Harghita County and about 45 kilometers in Covasna County .
