Covasna County
Covasna ( Romanian district (Județ) in the Transylvania region with the district capital Sfântu Gheorghe . Its common abbreviation and license plate number are CV.

Covasna is the smallest county in Romania by population .
In 2002 Covasna County had 222,449 inhabitants and a population density of 60 inhabitants per km². 75% of the population had Hungarian as their mother tongue, 24% Romanian .
In 2011 the district had 210,177 inhabitants, thus a population density of 57 inhabitants per km².

The district has a total area of 3705 km², which corresponds to 1.55% of the area of Romania. Located in the southeast of the Transylvanian Basin , the Covasna district is located in the Bodoc and Baraolt Mountains and is crossed by the Olt (Alt) river in a north-south direction .
