Arad district
Arad is a Romanian district (Județ) in the Kreischgebiet and Banat with the district capital Arad . Its common abbreviation and license plate are AR.
The Arad county is bordered to the north and north-east to the Bihor County , in the east of the Alba County , in the east and southeast of the Hunedoara county , in the south to the Timiş County and west to Hungary .
Demographics
In 2002 the Arad County had 461,730 inhabitants and a population density of 60 inhabitants per km². 82.2% of the population are Romanians , 10.7% are Hungarians , 3.8% are Roma and 1.1% are Germans ( Banat Swabians ).
In 2011 the Arad district had 430,629 inhabitants and a population density of 56 inhabitants per km².
