Ialomița district
Ialomița [ ˈjalomitsa ] ( ) is a Romanian district ( Județ ) in the Wallachia region with the district capital Slobozia . Its common abbreviation and license plate number are IL.
Ialomița County borders in the north on Prahova , Buzău and Brăila counties , in the east on Constanța County , in the south on Călărași County and in the west on Ilfov County .
Demographics
In 2002 the district had 296,572 inhabitants and a population density of 67 inhabitants per km². 95.6% of them were Romanians , 4.1% were Roma and 0.2% were Lipovans .
In 2011 the district of Ialomița had 274,148 inhabitants, thus a population density of 62 inhabitants per km². 88.18% were Romanians, 5.2% Roma and 0.13% Lipovans.
