Constanța County
Constanta ([ konstant͜sa ]; ) ( Turkish Köstence ili ) is a Romanian county ( Judeţ ) in the region Dobrogea with the county town Constanta . Its common abbreviation and license plate number is CT.
The county Constanta is bordered to the north of the circles Braila and Tulcea , in the east to the Black Sea , in the south of Bulgaria and in the west to the counties Calarasi and Ialomita .
Demographics
In 2002 the district had 715,172 inhabitants and a population density of 101 inhabitants per km². A minority of Turkish and Tatar Muslims have lived in the region for centuries, see Islam in Romania .
In 2011 the Constanța district had 684,082 inhabitants and a population density of 97 inhabitants per km².

The district has a total area of 7071 km². This corresponds to 2.96% of the area of Romania. In the southeast of Romania, the district is in the Dobruja Highlands (Podișul Dobrogei) between the right bank of the Danube and the Black Sea . The Danube-Black Sea Canal runs in a west-east direction on the territory of the Constanța district .
