The European route 762 (short: E 762 ) leads through the states of Bosnia and Herzegovina , Montenegro and Albania and is almost 400 kilometers long.

The road begins in the Bosnian capital Sarajevo , leads via Nikšić to the border to Montenegro and on to the Montenegrin capital Podgorica . From there, the E 762 continues via Tuzi to the Albania border at Han i Hotit . The E 762 then continues from there via Shkodra to the Albanian capital Tirana .

As a north-south route in the Western Balkans , it connects capital cities. In the southern area it is the only important road in the coastal plain.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina it is signposted as M18 , in Montenegro also as M18 and in Albania as SH1 .

It crosses the European roads E 65 and E 80 in Podgorica and branches off the E 73 in Sarajevo . The continuation to the south is the E 852 , which leads from Tirana to Ohrid .
