The European route 12 (E 12) is a European route that extends in a west-east direction mostly through Finland , but also partly through Sweden and Norway . It is 910 km long, starts in Mo i Rana in Norway and ends in Helsinki . In Sweden and in bilingual areas of Finland, it is also known as Blå vägen (Blue Way) because it follows the Ume älv .
