Blue path in Kattisavan, Sweden

The Blue Way ( Swedish. Blå Vägen , Finnish. Sininen tie , Norwegian. Blå vegen , Russian. Голубая дорога) is an international tourist route in Northern Europe, which leads in a west-east direction from Norway via Sweden and Finland to Russia .

The route begins in Nesna on the Atlantic in Norway. In Sweden it runs through southern Lapland and southern Västerbotten through the municipalities of Storuman , Lycksele , Vindeln , Vännäs and Umeå . The Wasa Express ferry crosses the Gulf of Bothnia between Umeå in Sweden and Vaasa in Finland . After crossing central Finland, the road leads to Russia at the border crossing from Tohmajärvi , where it ends in Petrozavodsk .

Between Mo i Rana in Norway and Laihia in Finland, the road is identical to European route 12 . Between Mo i Rana and Umeå there was also a bus line that was named after the tourist route and followed its route until 2016. The Konstvägen also partly follows the Blue Path.
