Puijo tower

The Puijo Tower is a 75 meter high television tower built in 1963 in the Finnish city of Kuopio . It is located above the Puijo ski jump and was extensively renovated in 2004 and has two lifts and stairs to get to the viewing platform. This tower, which is open to the public, has a revolving restaurant with 100 seats.

Today's Puijo Tower had two predecessors. The first tower was built of wood in 1856 and was 16 meters high. A second brick tower with a height of 24 meters was built in 1906. During the Second World War the tower was used for air surveillance. It was removed in 1963 when the current tower was built.
