Konstvägen sju älvar (Swedish: 'The Art Route (of) the Seven Rivers') is a tourist route in northern Sweden that leads from the Bottenwiek to the southern mountains of Lapland .

The route runs between Holmsund and Vännäs along European route 12 . From then on it follows the major part of its length of the national road 92 to Dorotea and further the secondary provincial road AC 1052 to Borgafjäll .

history

The route was initially only called the Path of the Seven Rivers, after the seven rivers it crosses on its way: Vindelälven , Ume älv , Öreälven , Lögdeälven , Gideälven , Ångermanälven and Saxälven . After collaborating with various artists and setting up their installations along the route, the name was changed to the current one in 1997. There are currently twelve works of art in different conditions along the 350 km long road. The last work of art dates from 2005 and consists of a ten-meter-long boat hook that was made by students and erected in Bjurholm next to a bridge over the Öreälv.
