Central Finland ( finn. Keski-Suomi [ kɛskiˌsuɔmi ] Swed. Central Finland ) is one of 19 landscapes Finland . It consists of the northern part of the historical landscape of Häme and the westernmost part of Savo . In 1960 there was from the province of Vaasa spun off and established as a separate province. This existed until 1997, when it was incorporated into the short-term province of Western Finland . Central Finland is geographically located south of central Finland, as Lapland is viewed as a separate geographical unit. Jyväskylä is the administrative center and largest city in Central Finland .
