Central Finland ( finn. Keski-Suomi [ kɛskiˌsuɔmi ] Swed. Central Finland ) is one of 19 landscapes Finland . It consists of the northern part of the historical landscape of Häme and the westernmost part of Savo . In 1960 there was from the province of Vaasa spun off and established as a separate province. This existed until 1997, when it was incorporated into the short-term province of Western Finland . Central Finland is geographically located south of central Finland, as Lapland is viewed as a separate geographical unit. Jyväskylä is the administrative center and largest city in Central Finland .

Central Finland is divided into 23 municipalities (kunta), six of which have city status (kaupunki). The area indicated refers to the land area (as of January 1, 2013), which usually only represents a subset of the total area due to the associated lakes . Population as of December 31, 2018:
