Luhanka [ ˈluɦɑŋkɑ ] ( Swedish : Luhango ) is a municipality in the Finnish countryside of central Finland . The entire population is Finnish-speaking .

Localities

The municipalities include Judinsalo, Klemettilä, Lempää, Rekolankylä, Tammijärvi and Vuorenkylä.

Attractions

In Luhanka there is a neo-Gothic wooden church from 1893 based on a design by Josef Stenbäck .

politics

As in most rural areas of Finland, the Center Party is the strongest party in Luhanka . In the 2008 local elections it received almost half of the votes and has an absolute majority in the local council, the highest decision-making body in local matters, with 8 out of 15 MPs. The second largest parliamentary group is the conservative National Collection Party with three seats. The Social Democrats and a local electoral list ( Lähialueyhteistyön yhteislista ) each had two seats .

Luhanka has had a parish partnership with Årjäng in Sweden since 1944 .
