The European route 99 (short: E 99 ) crosses Turkey in a west-east direction through the Anatolian part to Azerbaijan starting in Şanlıurfa to Sədərək in Azerbaijan. The Europastraße is not developed as a motorway.

The European route 99 leads from Şanlıurfa , where it exits from the European route 90 , via the D 885 to Diyarbakır past the Batman Dam on the D 360 towards Bitlis (on the D 965 ). At Tatvan , the E 99 remains on the north bank of Lake Van on the D 965 to Erciş . In the direction of the Iranian border on the D 975 , the road then curves to the north at Doğubeyazıt . There the E 99 runs on a small section of the E 80 . Further on the D 975 , the E 99 reaches Iğdır . The E 99 finally runs to the Azerbaijani border on the D 080 and then merges into the M 7 . It ends in Sədərək , where the E 002 joins.

The European route 99 crosses the Turkish provinces of Şanlıurfa , Diyarbakır , Batman , Bitlis , Van , Ağrı and Iğdır . In Azerbaijan, the E99 reaches the Sədərək Rayon .
