The Europastraße (abbreviation E 48) runs in a west-east direction through Germany and Czechs .

It begins near Schweinfurt at the Schweinfurt / Werneck motorway junction on the A 7 and leads over the entire A 70 to the Bayreuth / Kulmbach motorway triangle , where it branches off to the north on the A 9 . At the next exit ( Bad Berneck / Himmelkron ), it branches off onto the B 303 , where it heads east towards Wunsiedel . At the Schirnding border crossing it becomes the D6 motorway and leads via Eger and Karlsbad to Prague , where it joins the outer ring motorway from Prague (“ Pražský okruh ”).
