D6 at the Jeneč exit near Praha

The Dálnice 6 ( Czech for "Autobahn 6") is a motorway in the Czech Republic and is intended to form the connection between Praha and the Karlovy Vary , Cheb and Marktredwitz area. The European route 48 runs along it . Until December 31, 2015 it was classified as an expressway and was called Rychlostní silnice 6 .

The D6 starts on the outer ring road of Prague near Prague Airport .

Since January 1, 2018, the entire route between Eger and Karlovy Vary no longer requires a vignette . Since then, only the section between Jeneč (exit 7) and Nové Strašecí (exit 32) in Central Bohemia is subject to charges . Section Dvory (129) - Jenišov (131) is only signposted as a motor road because the curve is too sharp for the motorway .
