Storstrømmen or the Storstrøm ( Danish for: "Big Stream") is a 10 kilometer long strait between the Danish islands of Sjælland , Falster , Masnedø and Farø . To the west the Storstrøm opens into the Smålandsfarvandet , to the east it merges into the Grønsund . The Storstrømsbroen crosses the Storstrøm between Falster and Masnedø, the southern of the two Farø bridges between Falster and Farø.
Storstrøm gave its name to Storstrøms Amt , an administrative municipality that stretched from 1970 to 2007 over southern Zealand, Falster, Møn and Lolland and for Storstrøms Kunstmuseum, now Fuglsang Kunstmuseum .
