Lubenec (German Lubens , also Lubenz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located 13 kilometers southwest of Podbořany and belongs to the Okres Louny .

geography

Lubenec is located at the southeastern foot of the Duppau Mountains at the transition to the Rakonitzer Hügelland. The place lies at the confluence of the brook Struhařský potok in the Blšanka . K Vescům (449 m) rises to the north, Na Jelení (445 m) to the southeast, Čertovka (587 m) to the south and Jezerký vrch (588 m) to the west. The R 6 / E 48 expressway from Prague to Karlovy Vary and the Rakovník - Bečov nad Teplou railway line run through Lubenec .

Neighboring towns are Libyně in the north, Drahonice in the north-east, Řepany in the east, Jelení in the south-east, Ovčárna and Struhaře in the south, Žďárek, Chyše and Podštěly in the south-west, Jezera, Nová Teplice and Libkovice in the west and Kostrčany, Petrův Mlestěčnice and in the north

history

The first written mention of Luben was in 1057 in the founding document of the collegiate chapter of St. Stephan in Litoměřice by Spytihněv II. The village Ležky was also named therein.

Count Michna von Vacínov belonged to the owners in the 18th century . In 1846, Franz Lehnert built a porcelain factory on the grounds of the Hirschen hunting lodge. There was also a sandstone quarry near Hirschen.

After the abolition of patrimonial , Lubenz formed a market town in the Luditz district in 1850 . In 1930 Lubens had 1,164 inhabitants. After the Munich Agreement , the place was added to the German Empire and belonged to the Luditz district until 1945 . In 1939, 1030 people lived in Lubens. 1948 Lubenec was assigned to the Okres Podbořany and Řepany and Vítkovice (with Struhaře) incorporated. During this time Lubenec also lost its status as Městys . Since 1961 the community belongs to the Okres Louny. In the same year the incorporation of Libkovice and Libyně (with Horní Záhoří and Dolní Záhoří) took place. In 1978 Drahonice was added as a district. In 1981 Ležky (with Přibenice) was incorporated.

The municipality of Lubenec consists of the districts Dolní Záhoří ( Unter Dreihöfen ), Drahonice ( Drahenz ), Horní Záhoří ( Dreihöfen ), Ležky ( Leschkau ), Libkovice ( Liebkowitz ), Libyně ( Libin ), Lubenec ( Lubens ), Přibenice ( Pribenz ), Řepany ( Rschepan ) and Vítkovice ( Witkowitz ). Basic settlement units are Dolní Záhoří, Drahonice, Horní Záhoří, Jelení ( deer ), Ležky, Libkovice, Libyně, Lubenec, Přibenice, Řepany and Vítkovice. Lubenec also includes the settlements of Královské Údolí ( Königsthal ), Ovčárna ( sheep farm ) and Struhaře ( Struharz ). The deserted Hájek ( Haikau ) lies on the corridor .

The municipality is divided into the cadastral districts of Dolní Záhoří, Drahonice u Lubence, Horní Záhoří, Ležky, Libkovice, Libyně, Lubenec, Přibenice and Vítkovice u Lubence.
