Holedeč (German Holletitz , also Holetitz , Groß Holletitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located six kilometers south of Žatec and belongs to the Okres Louny .

geography

Holedeč is located at the northwestern foot of the Džbán mountain range on the Blšanka ( Goldbach ). The Holý vrch (382 m) rises to the south and the Chlum (289 m) to the west. The railway line Praha – Chomutov passes to the west , the next station is in Holedeček. The place is surrounded by several light bunker lines of the Czechoslovak Wall .

Neighboring towns are Holedeček in the north, Stránky in the northeast, Kluček in the east, Tasov and Lhota in the southeast, Bukovina, Želeč and Nový Dvůr in the south, Měcholupy in the southwest, Milčeves and Milošice in the west and Radíčeves in the northwest.

history

The first written mention of the village took place in 1318 as the seat of the Vladiken Tomáš, Jindřich and Miloslav von Holedeč. Part of the village belonged to the Prague Collegiate Chapter in 1332 . Together with Holedeček, Holedeč was owned by Vladiken Přechov von Holedeč at the end of the 14th century, followed by Beneš von Měcholupy. Since 1420 there is evidence of a fortress that was the seat of the brothers Prokop and Oldřich von Holedeč. During the Hussite Wars it belonged to Odolen von Holedeč, who was a mercenary in the service of Emperor Sigismund . Before 1470, the Šmohař von Rochov owners of Holedeč. The festivities went out at the end of the 15th century. In 1527 the village consisted of 18 properties. In 1579 the town of Saaz acquired the goods from Jindřich Oudrčský of Údrč. After the Battle of White Mountain , the city's possessions were confiscated by Emperor Ferdinand II . In 1628 the council of Saaz bought Holedeč back from the Bohemian Chamber. Holletitz stayed with Saaz until the middle of the 19th century.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed United Holletitz / Holedeč with the district Klein Holletitz / Holedeček and the hamlet of Bucovina / Bukovina 1850 a municipality in the district Saaz . On February 4, 1871 by the Buštěhrad Railway route Prague-Chomutov inaugurated. A train station was built in Klein Holletitz. On the night of May 25th to 26th, 1872, Groß Holletitz was devastated by a night torrent of the Goldbach after downpours . 41 people drowned. The volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1879. In 1905, the double-track railway operation between Michelob and Trnowan began. In 1924, 657 people lived in the (Groß) Holletitz district, 600 of them Germans and 57 Czechs. In 1930 the entire community had 918 inhabitants, in (Groß) Holletitz there were 718. Between 1930 and 1931 a waterworks was built east of the village. After the Munich Agreement , the place was added to the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the Saaz district until 1945 . The Czech population left the village because of the disadvantages that began and moved across the nearby imperial border into Czechoslovakia. In 1939 there were 862 people in the community. After the end of the Second World War, Holedeč came back to Czechoslovakia and the German population was expelled . At the beginning of 1961 the incorporation of Stránky and Veletice took place, at the same time the place was assigned to the Okres Louny . Between 1981 and 1990 Holedeč was incorporated into Měcholupy .

Community structure

The community Holedeč consists of the districts Holedeč ( Holletitz ), Holedeček ( Klein Holletitz ), Stránky ( Tronitz ) and Veletice ( Weletitz ). Basic settlement units are Holedeč, Stránky and Veletice. The settlement Bukovina ( Bukowina ) also belongs to Holedeč .

The municipality is divided into the cadastral districts of Holedeč, Stránky and Veletice.
