history

The village, named after a Velemysl , was probably founded at the end of the 13th century. Velemyslova ves was first mentioned in writing in 1316 as the seat of Vladiken Boheš. In 1579 Jan von Velemyšleves had to sell his property to Georg Hochhauser von Hochhausen auf Eisenberg due to indebtedness . After the battle of the White Mountain , the goods of the high-rise buildings were confiscated and Velemyšleves was sold to Humprecht Czernin von Chudenitz . He sold Velemyšleves to the Jesuit order in Komotau . After the turmoil of the Thirty Years' War , the order brought the goods to a new bloom. The Berní rula from 1654 shows 24 farmers and 12 residents for Velemyšleves, only three farms were still desolate. At that time the place was mostly populated by Germans. In 1736 the Jesuits had a brewery built. The castle was probably built on the site of the ruined fortress at this time. In 1756 the Velemyšleves manor owned two fish ponds and a mill. After the Jesuit order was abolished in 1773, Welmschloß became part of the Bohemian chamber estates. The first evidence of the castle comes from the year 1798, when the Osek monastery showed interest in the estate. In 1813 the citizen of Laun Václav Beníško bought the castle and estate. In 1828 the Komotau mayor Jakob Dobrauer acquired the Welmschloss estate and other villages. At that time the village consisted of 69 houses and had 252 inhabitants. A park was laid out around the castle, which was located opposite the village on the right bank of the Chomutovka .

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Welmschloß / Velemyšloves 1850 with the hamlet Trusenz / Trusenice a municipality in the district Saaz . In 1868 Franz Seraph Horsky acquired the Welmschloß estate. The local volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1878. In 1881 the brewery was reconstructed. Between 1885 and 1887 the owners of the estate, the Zuleger family, had the palace completely rebuilt in neo-baroque style. With 555 inhabitants, Welmschloß reached its highest population in 1888. A school building was inaugurated in 1904, previously Minitz had been the school location. In 1930 the community of Welmschloß had 679 inhabitants.

After the Munich Agreement , the place was added to the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the Saaz district until 1945 . In 1939 there were 529 people living in the community. After the end of World War II, Velemyšleves came back to Czechoslovakia and the German population was expelled . The castle was transferred to the state estate in 1950, which it used as a farm workers' boarding school.

Since 1961 Velemyšleves belongs to Okres Louny, at the same time Minice and Zálezly were incorporated. Since the 1970s, the dilapidated castle stood empty and fell into disrepair. In 1987 it was demolished. Between 1981 and 1990 Velemyšleves was a district of Žiželice .

On the former army airfield Žatec, the construction of the 365 hectare industrial area Triangle began in 2002, in which branches of the Japanese companies IPS Alpha Technology Europe and Hitachi Home Electronics were established. Under the name Průmyslová zóna Triangle, it partially forms a district, another part belongs to Staňkovice .
