history

The first written mention of the place took place in 1226 as property of the Doksany monastery . At the beginning of the 16th century, the Hájek z Libočan family owned Libočany, followed by Bohuslav Felix von Lobkowitz and Hassenstein . The first evidence of the existence of a festival dates back to 1595. In 1602, Christoph von Duppau acquired the rule of Johann Waldemar von Waldstein . After the Battle of White Mountain Bought Jaroslav Borsita of Martinic the confiscated property of Wilhelm Duppaus and sold Libočany 1623 to Florian Dietrich von Saar. In 1653 Libočany was married to Maximilian von Schönfeld, governor of Saaz. Other owners were the Příchovský z Příchovic and from 1690 the knights of Janinall.

In 1740 Wenzel Karl Schroll von Schrollenberg acquired the manor and in 1770 had the old fortress converted into a baroque palace, around which a park was laid out. In 1779 Anna Marie and Franz Anton von Weinberger inherited the property. Through Wenzel Jenik Ritter von Gamsendorf , the property came to Josef Schreitter von Schwarzenfeld in 1806. After the replacement of patrimonial Libotschan became an independent municipality with the district of Horkau in 1850. In the 19th century, the castle belonged to the music publisher Franz Weinhardt.

After the Munich Agreement , the place was added to the German Reich and belonged to the Saaz district until 1945 .
