Peruc (German Perutz ) is a minority (městys) in the Czech Republic . It is twelve kilometers east of Louny and belongs to the Okres Louny .
geography
The place is located on the right above the valley of the Débeřský potok on a plateau. In Peruc the state roads 239 cross between Louny and Velvary and the 237 between Libochovice and Nové Strašecí . The railway line Kralupy nad Vltavou - Most , built by the Prague-Dux Railway , runs through the village . Neighboring towns are Pálek, Stradonice and Chrastín in the north, Černochov in the east, Vraný and Vrbičany in the southeast, Telce in the south, Vrbno nad Lesy and Hřivčice in the southwest, Milonka, Débeř and Slavětín in the west and Kystra and Radonice nad Ohří in the northwest.
history
According to ancient traditions, Peruc was the scene of the romance between Prince Oldřich and the farmer's daughter Božena, from which his son Břetislav I emerged . The Oldřich oak and Božena spring remind of this.
The first documentary evidence comes from the year 1170. Until the Hussite Wars , the place belonged to the properties of the Strahov Premonstratensian monastery . Subsequently, secular owners often took turns. Johann Dietrich von Ledebur , who bought Perutz in 1673, was one of them. The Ledebur owned the place until 1718 and in 1814 it was acquired by the Thun and Hohenstein family. They remained the owners of the castle until the expropriation in 1945. The castle property then belonged to the People's Committee of Okres Louny until 1963 and was then transferred to the state museums in Prague. In 1994 the municipality became the owner of the castle.
On November 30, 2005 a partnership agreement was signed with the Saxon community of Leubsdorf .
Peruc has had the status of a minor town ( městys ) since December 1, 2006 . On March 9, 2007, investors Francis James Hellyer and Emmanuel Ciolfi from Wales bought the castle for 19,000,000 crowns. After the renovation is complete, the property will be used as a hotel.
