Prague-Dux Railway
The kk privileged Prague-Dux Railway was a railway company in Austria whose routes were in what is now the Czech Republic . The company's main connection ran from Prague via Brüx to the Austrian-Saxon state border near Moldova , where there was a connection to the network of the Royal Saxon State Railways .
history
The aim of the company was to establish a railway connection between Prague and the northern Bohemian lignite mining area . On June 25, 1870 Messrs. Friedrich Graf Thun-Hohenstein , Rudolf Graf Chotek , Moritz Fürst Lobkowitz , Ferdinand Fürst Kinsky , Heinrich Jaroslav Graf Clam-Martinitz , Anton Emanuel Komers , Julius Přiborsky, Josef Neswadba, Heinrich Mikolecky and Johann Pack became by law the right to build and operate a locomotive railway from Prague (Smichow) to Dux following the Aussig-Teplitz railway and the Lobositz-Dux-Niklasberger railway near Dux with a branch from one point of this line to Brüx .
The construction of the lines took place very quickly, so that the entire licensed line could be opened step by step in the years 1872 and 1873.
An extension of the route led from 1884 to the Ore Mountains ridge to Moldau (today: Moldava), there was a connection to the Nossen – Moldau railway in Saxony . This line was later known as the Teplitz Semmering Railway . In 1881 the Prague-Dux Railway also received the concession for a local railway from Zlonitz to Hospozin, which opened on July 17, 1882.
From July 1, 1884, the management of the Prague-Duxer railway lines was transferred to the kk Staatsbahnen (kkStB). On January 1, 1892, the Prague-Dux Railway was nationalized and the routes finally became part of the kkStB network.
