Life

Sahner completed his internship at the Westfalen-Blatt . He then worked as a police reporter for the Bild newspaper in Munich; in this capacity he played himself in the episode "A Playboy Blesses the Temporal" of the crime series The Commissioner . From 1976 the native of Westphalia wrote reports for, among others, Bunte , Hörzu , Abendzeitung and Stern , until in 1992 he took over the chief editor of the German edition of the men's magazine Penthouse . Two years later, Sahner returned to Bunte and had been a member of the editor-in-chief and chief reporter since May 2001. In 2007 he hosted the TV show ... Please with Sahner on Das Vierte , in which he interviewed celebrities. In 1997, the taz referred to Sahner as the “Godfather of intimate confession”.

As an author, Sahner has written numerous artist biographies, including about the Bee Gees , Rod Stewart , The Who , Pink Floyd and Karl Lagerfeld .

Private

Sahner was married to Martina Sahner for the second time. He lived in Munich on Viktualienmarkt and had a weekend residence in Marquartstein im Chiemgau , where he died of a heart attack in June 2015 at the age of 70.
