The first written mention of the Brodec Fortress took place in 1282. Brodec belonged to the Vladiks of Lukovec in the middle of the 16th century . They sold the goods to the Hruška von Březno in 1580. The next landlord was Joachim von Steinsdorf, whose lands were confiscated after the battle of the White Mountain . The village was then auctioned and passed on between various German noble houses. In 1651 the Hložek von Žampach bought the place. The village was part of the Saazer Kreis and assigned to the Zittolieb district .
After the abolition of patrimonial Brodce / Brodetz formed a municipality in the political district of Louny from 1850 . In 1924 the Czech name of the place was changed back to Brodec . In 1976 it was incorporated into Líšťany and between 1981 and 1991 Brodec was part of Ročov . Since 1992 Brodec has formed its own municipality again. Brodec is a member of the Lounské Podlesí community and the smallest community in the Ore Mountains / Krušnohoří Euroregion .
