history

Ceramic remains found on the Holý vrch from the period between 750 and 400 BC Are to be assigned to the Hallstatt culture.

The first written mention of the manor and Vladikensitz Opočno took place in 1358. Lords of Kolowrat acquired Opočno around 1405, in 1453 they got the Jimlín rule and both were united. The Opočno Fortress served as the seat of the manor. Between 1465 and 1474 Albrecht von Kolowrat built the Nový Hrad Castle ( New Castle ) on the site of the old fortress in Jimlín . After the completion of this building, which was one of the last castles built in Bohemia, the Opočno Fortress served as the seat of lordly officials. The existence of a vineyard has been handed down from 1511 . Since the 1570s Opočno had Protestant pastors. In 1573 Johann d. Ä. Booger von Lobkowitz owned the new castle of the Novohradský z Kolovrat. Václav Franěk von Liběchov , who had acquired the new castle in 1580, sold the property to Vřesovec von Vresovice in 1588. At that time there was a brewery and malt house in addition to the festival. In the first half of the 17th century a parish school was built. In 1630 Johann von Aldringen bought the rule. In the same year he again appointed a Catholic as pastor. In 1634 the general who was in imperial service fell and the rule of Neuschloß was handed over to the Strahov Premonstratensian Monastery . In 1651 Christian Wilhelm von Brandenburg acquired the rulership devastated by the Thirty Years War. The fortress, including the farm buildings, was extinguished and what was left of it was completely removed over time. In the berní rula from 1654, twelve farms are shown for Opočno, including one farmer and eight residents. From 1670 the rule belonged to Gustav Adolph von Varrensbach , in 1715 it passed into the possession of Anna von Löwenegg. In 1757 Opočno consisted of eleven farms. In 1767 Joseph I. zu Schwarzenberg acquired the rule. After the fire in the rectory in 1787, it was rebuilt in a new place. In 1802, a large fire destroyed a large part of the village, including the school and church. In 1828 Opočno consisted of 35 houses and had 187 inhabitants. In 1846 238 people lived in the village. The population was mixed-lingual, with the Czechs making up the greater proportion.

After the abolition of patrimonial Opočno / Opotschna formed from 1850 a district of the Imling community in the Postelberg district . From the 1860s the municipality was named Spojená obec Jimlín, Opočno a Nové Hrady / localities Opočno, Neuschloß and Imling . In 1869, the municipality in Prague unsuccessfully applied for a transfer to the Launer judicial and political district. After the political district of Postelberg was dissolved, it was assigned to the Saaz district and remained with the judicial district of Postelberg. In 1870 school lessons were also started in the Czech language, until then only German was taught. In 1892 a new four-class school was inaugurated. In 1904 300 people lived in the 54 houses in the village. On September 24, 1904, train traffic on the Rakovník – Louny railway was started by the Rakonitz – Laun railway . In 1921 the political municipality of Opočno was established. In 1930, 329 people lived in the 77 houses in Opočno. After the Munich Agreement, the place remained in 1938 with Czechoslovakia and was attached to the Okres Louny. At the beginning of 1961, Opočno was incorporated into Jimlín. In 1981 the village came to Hřivice as a district . In November 1990 the community was re-established. Opočno had 105 inhabitants in 1990 and consisted of 70 houses. The village is a traditional hop growing place.
