The railway Rakonitz – Laun (Czech: Dráha Rakovník – Louny ) was a private railway company in today's Czech Republic . The company owned the in Central Bohemia situated railway Rakovník Louny .

history

On August 17, 1901, Mr. “ Vincenz Feyerseil, kk notary in Karolinenthal, in association with Josef Čermák, factory owner in Rakonitz, Vincenz Řiha, chairman of the district representation in Laun and Dr. Valentin Stopka, Mayor of Laun, the requested concession for the construction and operation of a standard-gauge locomotive railway to be implemented as a second-rate main line from the Rakonitz station of the state railway line Rakonitz-Protivin via Kroschau, Welhotten, Domauschitz, Opotschna, Jimlin and Semich to the connection by means of two connecting curves the Localbahn Postelberg – Laun ”granted.

The company's share capital was 1,559,200 kroner in 3,898 ordinary shares of 400 kroner each.

The 44 km long route including the connecting railways was opened on September 24, 1904.

The operation was carried out by the kk Austrian State Railways (kkStB) on behalf of the Rakonitz – Laun Railway . After the First World War, the newly founded Czechoslovak State Railways ČSD took the place of the kkStB .

On January 1, 1922, the Rakonitz – Laun railway was nationalized by law and the line was integrated into the ČSD network.

On account of the Rakonitz – Laun railway , the kkStB procured three 180 series locomotives . The locomotives had the road numbers 180.92-94.
