history

The first written record comes from 1318 when the village belonged to the Dalibor of Bitozeves (Dalibor z Bitozevsi) . The fortress is first mentioned in 1405 when it was bought by the crusaders from Jindřich z Telče . At the beginning of the 15th century the village belonged to the von Laun ( Louny ) family. In 1436 Emperor Sigismund pawned the village to Jindřich Buškov z Hluban . There were regular changes of ownership until 1506 Jan Hruška z Března Bitozeves bought. His family held the place for over a hundred years. Because of the participation in the uprising, the farm was confiscated and in 1623 sold to Adam Graf von Herbersdorf . He ceded it in 1630 to Pavel Michna von Vacínov , Lord of Postoloprty , who held it until 1920.

After the Munich Agreement , the place was added to the German Reich and belonged to the Saaz district until 1945 .

Attractions

The fortress, which stands on the left bank of the Chomutovka River , was a mighty, square, one-story building made of sand-lime brick. Together with the church, it formed the core of the fortress. It was abandoned after the Thirty Years War . In 1691 the ruin was rebuilt by the then owner Georg Ludwig von Sinzendorf and is still there today (house number 12). In the middle of the cemetery is the Church of St. Michael with a sacristy and a corner tower.

Community structure

The municipality of Bitozeves consists of four districts, which also form cadastral districts:

  • Bitozeves
  • Nehasice ( Nehasitz ) with a late Gothic church of the Virgin Mary from the 15th century, rebuilt in 1677 in Baroque style.
  • Tatinná ( Tatina ), first mentioned in 1378 as the property of Přech z Tatinné. The fortress was first documented in 1396. From 1533 until after the Battle of White Mountain , the settlement belonged to the Lords of Hruška. During the Thirty Years War the fortress and the village were robbed and burned down. Reconstruction took place in the second half of the 17th century. Salt-loving plants rarely grow on the banks of the Chomutovka.
  • Vidovle ( Widobl ), documented in 1388, first mentioned as the property of Ježek z Tatinné. In 1537 they belonged to the domain of Jan Hruška z Března. In 1563 a fortress is mentioned for the first time, which was burned down after the Thirty Years War.
