|Location of Havraň in the Most district|
Havraň was first mentioned in writing in 1281 in connection with the person Qual de Habran (Chval z Havraně). In 1497 the city of Brüx bought the place. The first lignite mines were opened here at the beginning of the 19th century . However, mining was not as profitable as in the Brüx basin. Havraň belonged more to the regions that operated agriculture. The only industrial company that established itself here was the Hielle und Dittrich sugar factory .
To the west of Moravěves is now the Joseph industrial area.
The municipality Havraň consists of the districts Havraň (Hawran) , Moravěves (Morawes) and Saběnice (Sabnitz) . Basic settlement units are Havraň, Moravěves, Průmyslová zóna Havraň and Saběnice. The entire municipality forms the Havraň cadastral district.
