Location of Havraň in the Most district

Havraň (German Hawran , formerly villa Hawranczy, Havrana, Hawranie, Habran, Habern ) is a municipality in the Most district in the Czech Republic .

Havraň was first mentioned in writing in 1281 in connection with the person Qual de Habran (Chval z Havraně). In 1497 the city of Brüx bought the place. The first lignite mines were opened here at the beginning of the 19th century . However, mining was not as profitable as in the Brüx basin. Havraň belonged more to the regions that operated agriculture. The only industrial company that established itself here was the Hielle und Dittrich sugar factory .

In 1887 Hawran received a railway connection through the Potscherad – Wurzmes local railway.

To the west of Moravěves is now the Joseph industrial area.
