history
The place was first mentioned in a document with the original name Wiese (Wíza) in 1289 as the property of the Lords of Hrabischitz . In 1398 the property was sold to the Margraves of Meißen from Saxony , who kept it until the Hussite Wars . After the wars it fell to the Bohemian crown. Before industrialization, mainly through mining, agriculture and cattle breeding were practiced in the village.
With the construction of the " Teplitzer Semmeringbahn " railway line to Moldau and on to Freiberg , the town received a railway connection in 1884. Further plans to extend the Schweinitztalbahn to Wiesa and thus its connection to this railway line were finally shelved in 1931.
